My experience abroad! From JICA's special guest Mrs. Yamashita Erika

On June 28th, Hokuriku junior high school third grade students received a lecture from a JICA guest, Mrs. Yamashita Erika (山下依里佳). Mrs. Yamashita, originally from Fukui, talked about her two-year overseas experience in Vanuatu.

Mrs. Yamashita talked about the various challenges she faced while living abroad, ranging from daily life, culture shock, and social interactions. It was also an opportunity to learn more about Vanuatu, its geography, food, people and lifestyle.

We want to thank JICA for offering this talk to third graders. This two-hour experience allowed the students to reflect about the importance of discovering new cultures. It is another stepping stone towards their trip to New Zealand.
